OAVT Large Animal and Livestock Bio-Security Student Externship Program

The OAVT is pleased to announce an opportunity for Ontario students in their second year at accredited Veterinary Technology programs to advance their learning in the area of large animals and livestock.  Our association was approved for two years of funding from the Ontario and Federal government, through the Agricultural Adaptation Council (AAC) to organize and administer an externship program for Ontario Veterinary Technician students.  The focus is on the best practices of bio-security on and between farms while conducting routine tasks for livestock and large animals.

Students must apply to the OAVT for this externship.  Those selected will receive a stipend at the completion of the externship to help support any relocation, travel and accommodation costs.  Participating veterinary clinics will also receive a stipend for accommodating the experience for the students.
